Best Nest promotes the safety, health and well-being of children with special health care needs and their families. While providing foster care, adoption and in-home protective services for medically fragile children, we educate and empower caregivers to access necessary resources for themselves and their children. We serve over 300 children every year and have reached more than 2000 children since we opened our doors in 1987.

Foster Care

Since 1987, our dedicated team has successfully identified individuals and families who can provide a safe and nurturing environment, carefully matching them with children with special medical needs.

Adoption

Our philosophy is that every child needs a strong family as the sturdy roots from which to grow and flourish. As an affiliate of the Statewide Adoption Network, Best Nest offers a full range of adoption services.

In-Home Protective Services

Best Nest, with the City of Philadelphia's sole contract for in-home protective services for medically fragile children, gives parents of children with special health needs the assurance that they don't need to manage alone.

Parent Education and Support

Best Nest's parenting programs are available to any parent of a child with special health care needs. We help children thrive by supporting parents. Through our classes, you can learn how to navigate the health care system, cope with the stress of caring for your child, better understand the impact of illness on the family—with particular emphasis on siblings—and learn to plan for the future.
